The 15 Best Dead Sea Tours from Tel Aviv & Jerusalem

40 reviewed

The drive east drops more than 1,300 feet below sea level in about ninety minutes, and nearly every operator pairs the float with Masada or Ein Gedi. What differs is the beach they use, how long you get in the water, and whether entrance fees are in the price. Here are the 15 best Dead Sea tours, compared on all three.

One packed day from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and the Dead Sea, with guided Old City walking, Nativity Church visits, and time to float.

“Hello, We very much enjoyed the tour. It was very informative, structured, and well organized. We had very good guide Josef, he introduced for us Jerusalim He reminded for us amazing history of this great city and also told us abot today"s Jerusalim. After Jerusalim we visited Bethlehem and again it was interesting excursion. After that we went to the Dead sea. It was really amazing experience - it is so strange when your body is listening to the solty water more than to your brains commands. Amazing day and unforgetable memories! I would recommend this tour to everyone who starts his acquaintance with this wonderful country.”

A full-day Masada and Dead Sea trip from Jerusalem with cable car ruins, Qumran history, and a buoyant float plus optional mud bath.

“Very well organized, comfortable transportation and our guide, Erez, was outstanding. First stop is the dead sea, they don’t advise this but bring water shoes. The beach is all rocks and very painful to walk on. They have lockers and showers so bring some soap and towels with you because you’ll end up covered in mud from the dead sea (recommended). The lunch stop is very busy and you spend one hour there. In Massada I would have liked more time to walk around and really enjoy the site. It was a bit rushed. Bring a hat and sunglasses if you go in the summer”

“The tour guide was excellent. Ein Gedi was too strenuous for us and should not been done. Older people and overweight people should avoid. The bus driver was drooling over 2 Muslim girls and needed to be more attentive to the other tourists on our bus. He definitely needed to be more professional. The Dead Sea was great. Ein Gedi is a definite skip.”

“In general the tour was great! (we were on April 4) All sites will be visited for a short time (1-1,5h) so keep this in mind. It is a perfect choice if you don't have lot's of time during your stay in Israel and won't be renting a car and still want to visit these sites. The bus was comfortable and had an AC. The scenary through bus windows was amazing so time flew fast. Our tour guide Merona was superb. She was funny, excellent at touring and provided good tips what to expect what to prepare and etc during site visits. You will be lucky to have her as…”
